Cartagena

We will be staying in Cartagena for 2 nights between Sat July 26 - Mon July 28.
Amid the late-night salsa bars and cantinas of Getsemani’s historic neighborhood, Cartagena’s restored colonial buildings are complete with outdoor swimming pools, rooftop terraces, coworking spaces, bars, courtyard lounges, and seafood restaurants that serve Colombian dishes daily. With local tour guides and community partners, our travelers will get to learn about Afro-Colombian history and visit & tour the first free Black town in the Americas - San Basilio de Palenque. Ogle the 500 year old port city walls from your room and take in views of the Clock Tower, San Pedro Claver Church, and San Felipe de Barajas Castle, all just a 10 minute walk away. After morning yoga at sunrise, refuel with a fruity, regional breakfast before walking over to Trinidad Square to explore the city’s architecture led by our expert guides. Back at the hostel, head upstairs for dinner and embrace coconut-infused cocktails and a dose of Afro-Caribbean music from the likes of cumbia and champeta!
Parque Tayrona & Palomino

We will be staying in Parque Tayrona & Palomino for 4 nights between Mon July 28 - Fri Aug 1
We will be staying in Parque Tayrona & Palomino for 4 nights between Mon July 28 - Fri Aug 1 Parque Tayrona encompasses Santa Marta, Minca & Palomino on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Santa Marta is a port city on the coast of the Caribbean Sea in northern Colombia. It is the capital of the Magdalena Department and the fourth-largest urban city of the Caribbean Region of Colombia, after Barranquilla, Cartagena, and Soledad. This city is situated on a bay by the same name and as such, it is a prime tourist destination in the Caribbean region. Palomino is located on the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Colombia where the river meets the ocean. Palomino's paradise attracts a low number of tourists even though the jungle landscape is exotic, there is vast biodiversity, and the beaches are white and uninhabited. Palomino is close to the entrance to Sierra Nevada National Park and close to the Resguardo Indigena, or Indian Reserve area. Especially popular is tubing down the Palomino River. Attracting backpackers traveling along Colombia's coast, there has also been a growth of restaurants, cafes, and hostels in recent years. Our hostel in Palomino is right on the beach and only a 10 minute rickshaw “taxi” away from Casa Del Sol Community Center and Cumbia School.
Medellín

We will be staying in Medellín for 2 nights between Fri Aug 1 - Sun Aug 3.
We will be staying in Medellín for 2 nights between Fri Aug 1 - Sun Aug 3. Medellín is the capital of Colombia’s mountainous Antioquia province. Nicknamed the “City of Eternal Spring” for its temperate weather, it hosts a famous annual Flower Festival. Modern metrocables link the city to surrounding barrios and offer views of the Aburrá Valley below. Sculptures by Fernando Botero decorate downtown's Botero Plaza, while the Museo de Antioquia displays more of the Colombian artist’s work. Make sure to look at the amazing mountains on the drive from the airport. A colorful city with a whole lot of character, our hostel sits in the heart of the hip Provenza neighborhood. Surrounded by culinary hotspots, buzzing bars, and authentic coffee shops, our hostel is the perfect place to explore this spellbinding city and meet like-minded travelers and creatives with a zest for art, culture, and music.
